Filipa of Hohenstaufen
Filipa of Hohenstaufen was a German princess born around 1200, part of the influential Hohenstaufen dynasty. She was the daughter of Philip of Swabia, a Holy Roman Emperor, and Irene Angelos. Filipa's lineage connected her to significant political alliances in medieval Europe.
In 1212, she married Erik X of Sweden, strengthening ties between the Hohenstaufen family and the Swedish monarchy. Their union produced several children, including Valdemar of Sweden, who later became king. Filipa's life and marriage played a role in the political landscape of Northern Europe during the early 13th century.
