Fidesz party
The Fidesz party, officially known as the Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance, is a major political party in Hungary. Founded in 1988, it began as a liberal youth organization but has since shifted to a center-right, nationalist stance. The party is known for its strong emphasis on national sovereignty, traditional values, and economic growth.
Since 2010, Fidesz has been the dominant party in Hungarian politics, led by Viktor Orbán, who has served multiple terms as Prime Minister. The party has implemented various reforms, including changes to the constitution and media laws, which have sparked debates about democracy and rule of law in Hungary.
