Fibrosarcoma
Fibrosarcoma is a type of cancer that arises from fibrous connective tissue, which supports and connects different parts of the body. It typically occurs in the soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and can develop in various locations, including the limbs and trunk. This cancer is more common in adults but can also affect children.
The exact cause of fibrosarcoma is not well understood, but certain factors, such as previous radiation therapy or genetic conditions like Li-Fraumeni syndrome, may increase the risk. Treatment often involves a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy to remove the tumor and prevent recurrence.
