Fernando Sor
Fernando Sor was a Spanish composer and guitarist, born in 1778 in Barcelona. He is often regarded as one of the most important figures in classical guitar history. Sor's works include numerous studies, sonatas, and variations that helped establish the guitar as a serious concert instrument.
Throughout his life, Sor traveled extensively across Europe, performing and teaching. He published several influential guitar method books, which are still used today. His music is characterized by its melodic beauty and technical precision, making it a staple in the repertoire of classical guitarists. Sor passed away in 1839 in Paris.
