Ferenc Kölcsey
Ferenc Kölcsey was a Hungarian poet, politician, and literary figure born on August 8, 1790. He is best known for writing the national anthem of Hungary, titled Himnusz. Kölcsey was a prominent member of the Hungarian literary scene in the early 19th century and played a significant role in the cultural and political life of Hungary.
In addition to his poetry, Kölcsey was involved in politics and served as a member of the Hungarian Parliament. He was a strong advocate for Hungarian independence and cultural identity during a time of significant change in Europe. Kölcsey passed away on April 24, 1838.
