Fenwick Island Lighthouse
The Fenwick Island Lighthouse is located in Fenwick Island, Delaware, and was built in 1858. Standing at 87 feet tall, it is one of the few lighthouses in the United States that is still operational. The lighthouse features a distinctive black and white striped design, making it easily recognizable.
The lighthouse was originally constructed to guide ships safely along the coast and into the nearby Delaware Bay. It is managed by the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation, which offers tours and educational programs to visitors interested in maritime history.
