Feline Distemper
Feline Distemper, also known as feline panleukopenia, is a highly contagious viral disease that affects cats. It is caused by the feline parvovirus, which attacks rapidly dividing cells, particularly in the bone marrow and intestines. Symptoms include fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy. Young kittens are especially vulnerable, and the disease can be fatal if not treated promptly.
Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent Feline Distemper. The feline distemper vaccine is typically included in routine vaccinations for cats, starting at a young age. Early detection and supportive care can improve the chances of recovery for infected cats.
