Federal National Council
The Federal National Council (FNC) is a consultative assembly in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Established in 1971, it consists of 40 members, half of whom are elected by the citizens of the seven emirates, while the other half are appointed by the rulers of each emirate. The FNC plays a role in reviewing and suggesting amendments to federal legislation, as well as discussing national issues.
The council meets regularly to address various topics, including economic development, social policies, and environmental concerns. While the FNC does not have legislative power, it serves as a platform for public opinion and contributes to the political dialogue within the UAE.
