Faunus is a Roman god associated with nature, fertility, and the protection of livestock. Often depicted as a half-man, half-goat figure, he embodies the spirit of the wild and is linked to the Greek god Pan. Faunus is known for his playful and carefree nature, often wandering through forests and fields, enjoying the company of nymphs and other woodland creatures.
In Roman mythology, Faunus is also considered a prophetic figure, believed to have the ability to communicate with animals and foresee the future. His festivals, known as Lupercalia, were celebrated in February, honoring fertility and the coming of spring.
