Fard
Fard refers to an obligation or duty in Islamic teachings. It is something that is required for Muslims to perform, such as the five daily prayers, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and giving Zakat (charity). Fard actions are considered essential for fulfilling one's faith and maintaining a good relationship with Allah.
There are two main categories of Fard: Fard al-Ayn and Fard al-Kifayah. Fard al-Ayn refers to individual obligations that every Muslim must fulfill, while Fard al-Kifayah refers to collective duties that, if performed by some members of the community, relieve the rest from the obligation.
