Farallon Islands
The Farallon Islands are a group of rocky islands located about 30 miles west of San Francisco, California. They are part of the Golden Gate National Parks and are known for their diverse wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and sea lions. The islands are largely uninhabited and are protected as a wildlife refuge.
The largest island, East Farallon Island, is home to a significant population of California sea lions and is a critical nesting site for various bird species. The islands are also notable for their unique ecosystems and are often studied by scientists for their environmental significance.
