East Farallon Island
East Farallon Island is part of the Farallon Islands, located about 30 miles west of San Francisco, California. It is the largest of the islands and is known for its rugged terrain and diverse wildlife. The island is primarily a wildlife refuge, home to various seabirds, marine mammals, and unique plant species.
The island is uninhabited by humans and is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Access is restricted to protect the wildlife, making it a significant area for research and conservation. The surrounding waters are also important for marine life, including California sea lions and elephant seals.
