Fanya Kaplan
Fanya Kaplan was a Russian revolutionary known for her assassination attempt on Vladimir Lenin in 1918. Born in 1890, she was a member of the Socialist Revolutionary Party and opposed the Bolshevik regime. Her actions were motivated by her belief that Lenin's policies betrayed the ideals of the Russian Revolution.
After the assassination attempt, Kaplan was arrested and tried. She was sentenced to death and executed in 1919. Her actions and subsequent execution highlighted the political tensions in post-revolutionary Russia and the challenges faced by the new Bolshevik government in maintaining control over the country.
