Fairy Penguins
Fairy Penguins, also known as Little Blue Penguins, are the smallest species of penguins, measuring about 12 to 13 inches tall. They are native to the southern coastlines of Australia and New Zealand. These charming birds have a distinctive blue plumage, which helps them blend into the ocean when viewed from above.
Fairy Penguins primarily feed on small fish and crustaceans, which they catch while swimming. They are known for their unique behavior of returning to shore at dusk, often forming groups called rafts for safety. Their populations are affected by habitat loss and predation, making conservation efforts important.
