FIRST Robotics is a global program that engages students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on robotics competitions. Founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen, the initiative aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in these fields by providing them with real-world engineering challenges. Teams of students, often guided by mentors, design, build, and program robots to compete in various challenges. The competitions promote teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, while also fostering a sense of community among participants.
