FALN
The FALN, or Fuerzas Armadas de LiberaciĆ³n Nacional, is a Puerto Rican militant group that emerged in the 1970s. Its primary goal was to achieve independence for Puerto Rico from the United States through armed struggle and political activism. The group was involved in various bombings and other violent actions, which led to its designation as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
FALN's activities peaked in the 1970s and 1980s, resulting in numerous arrests and convictions of its members. Over time, some members sought to negotiate for political status changes for Puerto Rico, while others remained committed to armed resistance. The group's legacy continues to influence discussions about Puerto Rican independence and identity.
