Extrinsic Hand Muscles
Extrinsic hand muscles are a group of muscles located in the forearm that control the movements of the fingers and wrist. These muscles are responsible for actions such as gripping, pinching, and extending the fingers. They are divided into two main categories: flexors, which bend the fingers, and extensors, which straighten them.
These muscles connect to the bones of the hand via long tendons that pass through the wrist. The flexor muscles are primarily found on the anterior side of the forearm, while the extensor muscles are located on the posterior side. Together, they enable a wide range of hand movements.
