Extragalactic Research
Extragalactic research is the study of objects and phenomena beyond our own galaxy, the Milky Way. This field encompasses the investigation of other galaxies, galaxy clusters, and cosmic structures, helping scientists understand the universe's formation and evolution. Researchers use telescopes and other instruments to observe light and other signals from these distant objects.
This research also explores the nature of dark matter and dark energy, which make up most of the universe's mass-energy content. By analyzing the behavior and interactions of quasars, supernovae, and black holes in extragalactic environments, astronomers gain insights into fundamental questions about the cosmos.
