European rabbits
The European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a small mammal native to Europe and North Africa. They have long ears, a short fluffy tail, and strong hind legs, which help them dig burrows and escape predators. European rabbits are social animals, often living in large groups called colonies.
These rabbits primarily feed on grasses, herbs, and vegetables. They are known for their rapid reproduction, with females capable of having multiple litters each year. Due to their adaptability, European rabbits have been introduced to various regions worldwide, sometimes becoming invasive species that impact local ecosystems.
