European hares
The European hare (Lepus europaeus) is a species of hare native to Europe and parts of Asia. It is known for its long ears, powerful hind legs, and a distinctive brown or grayish coat. European hares are primarily nocturnal and are often found in open fields, grasslands, and agricultural areas.
These hares are herbivorous, feeding on a variety of plants, including grasses, clover, and crops. Unlike rabbits, they do not live in burrows but create shallow nests called forms in tall grass. European hares are also known for their speed, capable of running up to 45 miles per hour to escape predators.
