European hare
The European hare (Lepus europaeus) is a species of hare native to Europe and parts of Asia. It has long ears, powerful hind legs, and a distinctive brown or grayish coat that helps it blend into its surroundings. European hares are primarily nocturnal and are known for their speed, capable of running up to 45 miles per hour to escape predators.
These hares inhabit a variety of environments, including grasslands, fields, and open woodlands. They are herbivorous, feeding on grasses, herbs, and crops. European hares are also known for their unique breeding behavior, where females can give birth to multiple litters each year, contributing to their population growth.
