European Toad
The European Toad (Bufo bufo) is a common amphibian found across Europe, known for its warty skin and robust body. These toads are typically brown or gray, providing excellent camouflage in their natural habitats, which include forests, gardens, and wetlands.
European Toads are primarily nocturnal and feed on insects and other small invertebrates. They are also known for their distinctive mating calls during the breeding season, which occurs in early spring. Despite their somewhat unappealing appearance, they play a crucial role in controlling insect populations and maintaining ecological balance.
