European Common Frog
The European Common Frog, also known as Rana temporaria, is a widespread amphibian found across Europe. It typically inhabits a variety of environments, including gardens, forests, and wetlands. This frog is easily recognized by its smooth, green or brown skin, which often features dark spots.
During the breeding season, which usually occurs in spring, males attract females with their distinctive croaking calls. The female lays clusters of eggs in water, which hatch into tadpoles. As they mature, these tadpoles undergo metamorphosis, eventually transforming into adult frogs that can live for several years in the wild.
