European Challenge Cup
The European Challenge Cup is an annual rugby union competition that features clubs from across Europe. It is the second-tier tournament, below the prestigious European Rugby Champions Cup, and includes teams from various leagues, primarily the English Premiership, French Top 14, and Pro14.
Established in 1996, the competition allows clubs that do not qualify for the Champions Cup to compete for European glory. The tournament format includes pool stages followed by knockout rounds, culminating in a final match to determine the champion. The 2022-2023 season saw London Irish claim the title, showcasing the competitive nature of the event.
