Eureka Dunes
The Eureka Dunes are located in the Death Valley National Park in California. These unique sand dunes are known for their towering heights, reaching up to 680 feet, making them some of the tallest in North America. The dunes are composed of fine, white sand and are shaped by the wind, creating stunning ripples and patterns.
One of the most fascinating features of the Eureka Dunes is the phenomenon known as "singing sand." When the sand is dry and disturbed, it can produce a deep, resonant sound, similar to music. This natural occurrence attracts visitors and researchers interested in the geology and acoustics of the area.
