Ettore Majorana
Ettore Majorana was an Italian theoretical physicist born on August 5, 1906. He is best known for his work in quantum mechanics and for proposing the existence of Majorana fermions, particles that are their own antiparticles. Majorana made significant contributions to the understanding of neutrinos and the behavior of particles at the quantum level.
In 1938, Majorana mysteriously disappeared while traveling by ship from Palermo to Naples. His disappearance remains one of the great unsolved mysteries in the scientific community. Despite his short career, Majorana's work has had a lasting impact on theoretical physics and continues to influence research today.
