Ethnic Groups in Bosnia
Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to three main ethnic groups: the Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats. The Bosniaks are primarily Muslim, while the Serbs are mostly Orthodox Christians, and the Croats are predominantly Catholic. These groups have distinct cultural traditions, languages, and historical backgrounds, contributing to the country's rich diversity.
The ethnic composition of Bosnia has been shaped by its complex history, including the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s, which led to significant demographic changes. Today, the country is organized into two entities: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska, reflecting the ethnic divisions and promoting a degree of autonomy for each group.
