Escolania de Montserrat
The Escolania de Montserrat is a boys' choir based at the Montserrat Monastery in Catalonia, Spain. Founded in the 13th century, it is one of the oldest choirs in Europe and consists of around 50 boys aged 9 to 14. The choir performs a variety of sacred music, including traditional Gregorian chant and contemporary compositions.
The boys receive a comprehensive education that includes music training, academic subjects, and spiritual formation. They perform regularly at the monastery and in concerts around the world, contributing to the rich cultural heritage of Catalonia and the Roman Catholic Church.
