Eremotherium
Eremotherium was a large genus of ground sloths that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago. These massive creatures could reach lengths of up to 4 meters (13 feet) and weighed over 3,500 kilograms (7,700 pounds). They primarily inhabited regions in South America and were herbivorous, feeding on leaves, fruits, and other vegetation.
Eremotherium is notable for its long limbs and large claws, which helped it navigate through dense forests. Fossils of this giant sloth have been found in various locations, providing insights into its behavior and environment. Its extinction is believed to be linked to climate change and human activity.
