Erebus
Erebus is a figure from Greek mythology, often associated with darkness and shadow. He is considered one of the primordial deities, representing the deep darkness that fills the underworld. Erebus is sometimes depicted as a personification of the dark space that souls must pass through before reaching Hades, the realm of the dead.
In addition to his mythological significance, Erebus is also the name of a volcano located in Antarctica. This volcano is part of the Ross Island volcanic group and is known for its ice-covered summit. Erebus is notable for its persistent lava lake, making it one of the few volcanoes in the world with such a feature.
