Enrique II
Enrique II, also known as Henry II of England, was a king who ruled from 1154 to 1189. He was the first monarch of the Plantagenet dynasty and significantly expanded his kingdom, which included parts of modern-day France. His reign is noted for legal reforms and the establishment of common law.
Enrique II is also known for his tumultuous relationship with the church, particularly with Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury. This conflict ultimately led to Becket's murder in 1170, which caused a scandal and strained relations between the monarchy and the church for years to come.
