Endless Column
The "Endless Column" is a monumental sculpture created by the Romanian artist Constantin Brâncuși. Completed in 1938, it is located in Târgu Jiu, Romania, and is part of a larger ensemble that includes the Table of Silence and the Gate of the Kiss. The column is made of 17 rhomboid-shaped modules stacked vertically, symbolizing the infinite nature of sacrifice.
Standing at 29.33 meters tall, the "Endless Column" is often interpreted as a tribute to the Romanian soldiers who fought in World War I. Its design reflects Brâncuși's interest in abstraction and simplicity, making it a significant work in modern sculpture.
