Empress Teimei
Empress Teimei, born Sadako Kujō in 1884, was the consort of Emperor Taisho and served as Empress of Japan from 1912 until her death in 1951. She was known for her dedication to her family and her role in supporting her husband during his reign, particularly as he faced health challenges.
As Empress, Teimei was involved in various social and cultural activities, promoting education and welfare initiatives. She was also a patron of the arts and contributed to the preservation of traditional Japanese culture during a time of significant modernization in the country.
