Empress Nam Phuong
Empress Nam Phuong, born Marie-Thérèse Nguyen Huu Thi Lan in 1914, was the last empress of Vietnam. She married Emperor Bao Dai in 1934 and became a prominent figure during the French colonial period. Her reign was marked by the struggle for Vietnamese independence and the complexities of colonial politics.
After the abdication of Emperor Bao Dai in 1945, Nam Phuong lived in exile in France. She remained a symbol of the Vietnamese royal heritage and was known for her elegance and dedication to her family. Empress Nam Phuong passed away in 2000, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with Vietnam's history.
