Emperor penguin
The Emperor penguin is the largest species of penguin, standing about 3.5 feet tall and weighing between 50 to 100 pounds. They are native to Antarctica and are well adapted to the cold climate, with a thick layer of blubber and dense feathers that provide insulation.
Emperor penguins are known for their unique breeding behavior. They lay their eggs during the harsh Antarctic winter, with males incubating the eggs on their feet for about 65 days while females hunt for food. This remarkable adaptation helps ensure the survival of their young in extreme conditions.
