Emperor Kobun
Emperor Kobun was the 70th emperor of Japan, reigning briefly from 672 to 673 AD. He was the son of Emperor Tenji and was known for his short and tumultuous reign, which was marked by political strife and conflict. His ascension to the throne followed a power struggle within the imperial family.
Kobun's reign ended when he was defeated by his half-brother, Emperor Temmu, during the Jinshin War. After his defeat, Kobun reportedly took his own life. His reign is often remembered for the instability of the period and the significant changes that followed under Temmu's rule.
