Emperor Kōkō
Emperor Kōkō was the 60th emperor of Japan, reigning from 884 to 887. He was part of the Yamato dynasty and is known for his relatively short reign during the Heian period. His era was marked by political instability and the influence of powerful noble families.
Kōkō's reign followed that of his father, Emperor Uda, and he was succeeded by Emperor Kōgen. Although little is documented about his personal life, Kōkō's time as emperor was characterized by the ongoing struggles between the imperial court and the rising power of the Fujiwara clan.
