Emperor Frederick III
Emperor Frederick III was the German Emperor and King of Prussia from 1888 until his death later that same year. Born on October 18, 1831, he was the son of Emperor William I and Empress Augusta. Frederick was known for his liberal views and desire for reform, but his reign was cut short by his battle with cancer.
Frederick III was married to Victoria, Princess Royal, the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Their marriage produced eight children, including William II, who succeeded him as emperor. Frederick's brief reign is often overshadowed by the more militaristic policies of his son.
