Emma Hardinge Britten
Emma Hardinge Britten (1823-1899) was a prominent figure in the 19th-century spiritualist movement. Born in England, she became known for her work as a medium, lecturer, and author, advocating for spiritualism and its principles. Britten was instrumental in organizing spiritualist conventions and contributed to various publications, helping to spread the movement's ideas.
In addition to her spiritualist activities, Britten was a strong advocate for women's rights and social reform. She co-founded the National Spiritualist Association of the United States and wrote several influential books, including Nineteenth Century Miracles, which documented her experiences and beliefs in spiritualism.
