Emir Abdelkader
Emir Abdelkader was a prominent Algerian leader and military commander born in 1808. He is best known for his resistance against French colonial rule in Algeria during the mid-19th century. Abdelkader united various tribes and led a significant struggle for independence, becoming a symbol of national pride and resistance.
After years of conflict, he was captured by the French in 1847 and later exiled to France.
