Ellinikon
Ellinikon is a former international airport located in Athens, Greece. It was operational from 1938 until 2001 and served as the main airport for the city before the opening of Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. The site covers approximately 6.2 square kilometers along the Athenian Riviera.
In recent years, Ellinikon has been the focus of a major redevelopment project. The plan aims to transform the area into a mixed-use urban development, featuring parks, residential spaces, commercial areas, and cultural facilities. This project is expected to significantly enhance the local economy and improve the quality of life for residents.
