Elizabeth of Hungary
Elizabeth of Hungary was a 13th-century princess born in 1207, known for her deep commitment to charity and helping the poor. She was the daughter of Andrew II of Hungary and became a widow at a young age when her husband, Ludwig IV of Thuringia, died.
After his death, Elizabeth dedicated her life to serving the needy, building hospitals, and caring for the sick. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1235, just four years after her death, and is celebrated for her compassion and selflessness, making her a beloved figure in Christian history.
