Elizabeth Talbot
Elizabeth Talbot, often referred to as the Countess of Shrewsbury, was a prominent figure in the 16th century. Born around 1520, she was known for her intelligence and political acumen. Elizabeth was married to George Talbot, the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury, and played a significant role in the management of their estates and the family's affairs.
She is perhaps best known for her involvement in the custody of Mary, Queen of Scots. Elizabeth was appointed to oversee Mary during her imprisonment in England, which placed her at the center of political intrigue and conflict during a tumultuous period in British history.
