Element 289
Element 289, known as ununpentium or Moscovium, is a synthetic element in the periodic table with the symbol Mc and atomic number 289. It belongs to the group of post-transition metals and is classified as a member of the p-block elements. Due to its instability, it has no significant commercial applications and is primarily of interest for scientific research.
Moscovium was first synthesized in 2004 by a team of Russian and American scientists at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia. It is highly radioactive, with a very short half-life, making it difficult to study. Its properties are not well understood, but it is expected to exhibit characteristics similar to those of thallium and lead.
