Electronic Cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes, often called e-cigarettes, are battery-powered devices that simulate the experience of smoking traditional tobacco products. They work by heating a liquid, known as e-liquid or vape juice, which typically contains nicotine, flavorings, and other chemicals. When heated, the liquid turns into an aerosol that users inhale, commonly referred to as "vapor."
E-cigarettes come in various shapes and sizes, including vape pens and pod systems. They are often marketed as a less harmful alternative to smoking, but health experts continue to study their long-term effects. While some people use them to quit smoking, others may start using nicotine through e-cigarettes without prior tobacco use.
