Electoral Commission of Zambia
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is an independent body responsible for overseeing elections in Zambia. Established in 1996, its primary role is to ensure free and fair electoral processes, including the management of presidential, parliamentary, and local government elections. The ECZ also handles voter registration and the delimitation of electoral boundaries.
The commission is composed of a chairperson and several commissioners appointed by the President of Zambia with approval from the National Assembly. The ECZ works to promote transparency and public confidence in the electoral system, ensuring that citizens can participate in the democratic process.
