Elections in Canada
Elections in Canada are held to choose representatives for the House of Commons, which is the lower house of Parliament. The main federal elections occur every four years, but they can be called earlier. Citizens aged 18 and older can vote, and they can choose from various political parties, including the Liberal Party, Conservative Party, and New Democratic Party.
Voting is done through a secret ballot, ensuring privacy. Each voter selects a candidate from their local riding, and the candidate with the most votes in that area wins. The leader of the winning party typically becomes the Prime Minister of Canada.
