Eisenhower Dollar
The Eisenhower Dollar is a United States coin that was minted from 1971 to 1978. It features a portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, on the obverse side. The reverse side showcases an image of the Apollo 11 mission insignia, commemorating the first moon landing in 1969.
This coin is made of a copper-nickel clad composition and has a diameter of 38.1 mm, making it larger than most other U.S. coins. Although it was intended for circulation, many collectors seek it out, and it is often found in uncirculated condition.
