Eirik II of Norway
Eirik II of Norway, also known as Eirik II Magnusson, was a king who ruled from 1136 to 1157. He was a member of the House of Knýtlinga and the son of Magnus IV of Norway. Eirik's reign was marked by internal conflicts and struggles for power among the Norwegian nobility.
During his rule, Eirik II faced challenges from rival factions, including his half-brother Sigurd II. His leadership was characterized by attempts to consolidate power and maintain stability in Norway. Eirik II's reign ended with his death in 1157, leading to further disputes over the Norwegian throne.
