Egyptian Theatre
The Egyptian Theatre is a historic movie palace located in Hollywood, California. Opened in 1922, it was designed in the style of ancient Egyptian architecture, featuring ornate decorations and hieroglyphics. The theatre originally showcased silent films and later adapted to sound films, becoming a popular venue for movie premieres and special events.
In 1998, the American Cinematheque organization took over the theatre, restoring it to its former glory. Today, the Egyptian Theatre hosts film screenings, festivals, and cultural events, celebrating both classic and contemporary cinema while preserving its unique architectural heritage.
